This engagement shoot is extra special to me because of these two sweethearts. Shelby and Ethan got engaged at the beginning of August and called me that day to tell me the exciting news! Shelby had lived with my family for all of 2019 and naturally, we became like sisters. So a moment after hearing the news we had made a plan for me to drive up to Vernon and celebrate with the two of them and also shoot their engagement photos!
Little did I know, Shelby was planning to take me along with her the morning of our shoot day to say yes to THE dress and then 10 seconds after saying yes, asked me to be her MAID OF HONOUR! I’ve never been so giddy for a photoshoot before! I felt like I was sharing in that joyful and excited look in their eyes and I’m only getting more excited as the clock counts down to their special day!
We got really lucky with The BX Press Cidery. They were such kind hosts and let us roam around through their apple orchard after dining in for an awesome flat bread pizza meal. Shelby and Ethan had actually been wanting to try this Cidery since taking many evening walks right past it. We even ended up bumping into Ethan’s best man at the Cidery right before the shoot! It was all too perfect.

What a gorgeous ring! Ethan purchased a beautiful antique and then had it customized for Shelby!

As the sun was just about to come down behind the mountain we drove a few minutes up the road to a parking lot lookout over Kalamalka lake! I was extra excited about this spot because of all the dry grass!
